Abstract

The NOAA Coastal Services Center addresses customers’ needs for adapting to climate variability and change by incorporating climate issues into the Center’s areas of expertise—marine and land use planning, hazards resilience, and conservation. Through core capabilities—fostering partnerships and delivering data, tools, training, and technical assistance—the Center enables coastal communities to become more resilient to natural hazards and climate change.

Recognizing that not all the necessary expertise lies within the Center, the organization assembles the team needed to develop climate-related products and services for our customers working in partnership with various NOAA offices, government agencies, nonprofits, and state and local agencies. This presentation will provide an overview of the Center’s resources, products, and services relevant to the identification of risks and vulnerabilities and the identification and implementation of adaptation strategies to build resilience.
